Crown: With MC and larger size hook, ch 42 loosely.
Row 1 (Right side): 2 Dc in fourth ch from hook, skip next ch, sc in next ch, skip next 2 chs, 4 dc in next ch, skip next 2 chs, sc in next ch; repeat from across to sc: 34 sts.
Note: Mark last row as right side.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc, now and throughout), turn; 2 dc in first sc, skip next 2 dc, sc in sp before next dc, 4 dc in next sc; repeat from across to last 2 dc, skip last 2 dc, sc in top of beginning.
Row 3: Ch 3, turn; 2 dc in first sc, skip next 2 dc, sc in sp before next dc, 4 dc in next sc; repeat from across to last 3 dc, skip next 2 dc, sc in last dc.
Rows 4-7: Repeat Rows 2 and 3 twice.
Row 8: Ch 3, turn; 2 dc in first sc, skip next 2 dc, sc in sp before next dc, 4 dc in next sc; repeat from across to last 3 dc, skip next 2 dc, sc in last dc; finish off.
Back:

Row 3: Ch 1, turn; sc in first sc, ch 3, slip st in last sc made, (sc in next 3 sc, ch 3, slip st in last sc made) across; do not finish off.
Neck Band:
Row 1: Ch 1, do not turn; sc in end of first 3 rows on Face Band; work 36 sc evenly spaced across to Face Band, sc in end of last 3 rows: 42 sc.
Rows 2 and 3: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.
Row 4: Ch 1, turn; sc in first 2 sc, (decrease, sc in next 3 sc) across; finish off. Add ribbon ties or crochet tie ropes.
